Amstel beer, founded in 1892 as Amstel Bavarian Beer Brewery, acquired by the Heineken brewery in 1968 is made in the Netherlands, in the province of South Holland, in the municipality of Zoeterwoude. Historically brewed in Amsterdam, the original brewery was moved in 1972. Additional brew plants with products under the Amstel name exist all over the world.
