I highly suggest staying at the Clarion. I stayed there for a week last month when I went to Disney. It is very affordable for the great service, rooms, and amenities you get. Also, it is only a mile from Disney and they have free shuttle service everyday.

If you buy the package deal through the park you will stay at one of their many themed hotels. These themes could be anything from sports to movies to music.

you can do some searching around to find the best deals. There are many hotels and especially smaller motels which are close to Disneyland, but they will be cheaper than staying at the actual Disney hotel.

If you get package directly by Disney with a Disney Resort stay, you will stay at any of the Value Resorts. All Star Music, Sports, Movies or Pop Century.
