Where do you donate books?

Check your local stores first but I think they both used to accept books. There are probably churches or organizations like Habitat for Humanity that might also take them.

If the books are in good condition, your local library will be glad to get them. That's what I do. Also, if they are appropriate, I am sure your local schools would take them also. Goodwill and Salvation Army would appreciate them too.

I know Goodwill accepts books, as will other charitable organizations that have retail stores selling miscellaneous goods. Before you give away books, though, check the titles online to see if they are rare or collectible. I am amazed sometimes at what seemingly nondescript old books are worth.
