You will find water bugs around lakes, ponds and streams. They are found mostly around fresh water and fly at mainly at night.

Water bugs live in lakes, pond, ocean and streams. They also live in dormat waterthat might have collected in old tire or other items outdoors. They light to fly around at night and some even eat plants. Be creful most them will bite you and it really hurts when they do.
