It depends on what kind of lights you want. Bars sometimes sell old beer signs. Ebay and Craigslist are two good places to find all kinds of inexpensive lights that would be perfect.

Target offers some home gym decorating ideas and tools including neon lighting. You have to be careful of neon because it contains mercury. It is not a danger unless the neon tube becomes damaged. If this happens replace lights immediatly.
