Check your local Antique Shops or Pawn Brokers. Most will give you a free appraisal. They will tell you what is worth and what they are willing give you.

Most antique shops with any dealer worth their weight can give you an approximant appraisal of something like that. Also check online and with places like Christies for more information.

The best place is eBay. List the item to see where the bidding goes to. To protect your item, you can list with a reserve. This will get you a feel for "fair market value", that is what someone is REALLY willing to pay. The forums on eBay also tend to be a good source for pricing collectibles.

You can take the gumboil machine to an antiques dealer for a proper appraisal. Also a collector of old drug store items, or soda shop may be a good place to start the appraisal. YOu can also look on e bay and see what similar products are selling for and if any are close to yours.
