Besides math textbooks, the public library may have math resources to help define and explain math terms and concepts. There are also several online math related dictionaries available. For elementary aged students, Jenny Eather's interactive website A Maths Dictionary for Kids is a favorite in our household. For middle schoolers, the University of Georgia's Interactive Mathematics Dictionary is recommended.

There are a lot of great web sites that have definitions for you. Here is a short list: www[.]mathwords[.]com en[.]wikipedia[.]org www[.]mathsisfun[.]com You can also just do a google search for the math term you are interested in. p.S. There are also a ton of resources for how-to lessons.

Mathworld is excellent -- it is an encyclopedia of mathematics hosted by Wolfram Research. Planetmath can also be useful. And, as with just about anything these days, Wikipedia has articles on just about everything and the quality of the mathematics articles is usually very good, though they are occasionally somewhat spartan.

Math is one of those things that if you understand it's easy, and if not, it's hard. I would suggest using website from a mathematical terms search or a tutor.
