Your school should have a lot of cheers that the fans and alumni are used to hearing already. Start with talking to some of the past cheerleaders from the program. Then possibly ask some other cheering coaches in the area for assistance.

First of all, see if the school you are coaching for has a list of old cheers from previous seasons. If not, talk to other people who are in the business. You can also look online, there are thousands of results for cheers.

I would recommend networking with coaches from other schools in your town or the neighboring communities. These coaches are very friendly and eager to help newbies such as yourself. In addition, there is a great deal of information on the website, just search for cheerleading cheers and start clicking.

If you Google "popular cheerleading cheers" the at least the first page of results are all relevant sites with common cheers you should recognize, some with audio examples.
