You can look on petfinder to see if anyone is putting any up for adoption, you can check with your local pound to see if they have any available for adoption, or you can google your local pet stores and give them a call or a visit to see if there is any that appeal to you.

Land urtles can be found at your local pet store. Aquatic turtles are more common so make sure to check the reptiles section of the store as opposed to the aquarium area. If pet store turtles do not satisfy you, you could always go out into the desert and look for one.

Land turtles are called tortoises. The most likely place to search for them is at Petco or Pet's Mart. Their price range is usually between $90 to $100. I've owned a tortoise for about four years and they are the most entertaining and clean pets around! You can't go wrong with a greek tortoise.

Almost all pet stores will carry some breed of land turtle, you can also check online, or in the paper. If you don't have any luck, try putting you own 'want' ad in the paper.
