Fasten off is the same as binding off or casting off. If you are not familiar with how to do that there are plenty of sources online that have videos demonstrating. Youtube would be a good place to start - just search for the words 'knitting bind off' and you'll find lots of examples.

"Fasten off" means binding the stitches so they won't unravel. To fasten off, knit the first and second stitches of the last row. Now, lift the first stitch over the second stitch. Knit the third stitch, then lift the second stitch over it. Repeat until all stitches are fastened off.

Fasten off means when you get to the end of the final stitch, cut your yarn (from 6-12 inches). Then pull your yarn through the stitch tightly to knot it. Don't pull too tight and break the yarn though. Then weave the end into your project.

this means finishing off your row. You cut the yarn and pull the end through the last stitch on your needle leaving enough to sew back into the knitting
