The one and only Big Band Era was in the 40's. Bands such as Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey were listened to on radios everywhere. The energy of the nation was high. Many movies depicted soldiers with "their girls" jitterbugging to "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy". It was an elegant time as well with couples gracing the dance floor.

The Big Band Era refers to a Musical Era from the early 1930s to the late 1940s. Typically a Big Band is a jazz playing group of about 20 players.
