You should see an endocrinologist immediately after diagnosis of both diabetes and hypothyroidism. Both conditions require constant supervision, which a doctor can do, but an endocrinologist can determine why you have both conditions. And if you have both conditions, an endocrinologist can ensure medications for both conditions do not interfere.

Individuals with a familial history of diabetes or thyroid problems should begin tracking their blood sugar levels at an early age. Excessive thirst, unplanned weight loss, and constant fatigue are all indicators that diet adjustments or medications may be in order. Consult a doctor at the first sign of symptoms.

You should see an endocrinologist when your thyroid is slow and if affecting your metabolism. You should also go if there is also a problem with your adrenal glands. But if you have diabetes and hypothyroid, you should go see an endocrinologist as soon as possible. An endocrinologist will be able to help with any thyroid problems.

You should see an endocrinologist when you are having symptoms of either disease. If the current medications are not working and you are feeling ill, then you should see the endo dr.

If you feel you have symptoms relating to either of these diseases it is best to get checked immediately. A general practitioner can determine if you have one of these diseases. Once you establish that you do in fact have one of these disease, it is time to see an endocrinologist for treatment.
