When does puberty start?

My nine year old daughter is giving me the hardest time, it is almost as if her hormones are already out of control.

There is a pretty wide age range for the onset of puberty. And yes, the hormones are often coming into play well before menarche - the first period. At nine, it is well possible your daughter is experiencing some hormonal fluctuations. But although her behavior could be hormonal, nine yr olds also experiment with different behaviors.

Puberty starts usually at the age of between 10 to 11 years. Sometimes some children may have puberty somewhat early and some may hav somewhat late. It all depends upon the heredity. Hormones start developing and so the private parts of the child during puberty period. Hair of very light color also start coming up on the private parts.

Puberty has been starting earlier and earlier. It isn't uncommon for many girls to start their period around the age of ten to twelve.

Puberty starts around 7 or 8 in girls and 9-10 in boys but can vary a year or two for some kids.

I think it's not that common for girls to start puberty at 7 or 8. Some do, certainly, but I don't think this is the average age. I think it's more like around 10.  add a comment
