First, the cat's nipples become pink. You'll also notice that the heat cycle has stopped. The cat becomes quieter, less interested in other cats and starts gaining weight. At last, you'll notice that your pet gets extremely hungry. You should always take it to the vet.

Has your cat gone into heat in the last month? Been with an unneutered male? It is difficult to tell in the first month unless you have experience doing so. At about one month, your cat's abdomen will begin to get bigger. During this month her nipples will also become more prominent and the hair around them will disappear.

A cat's pregnancy is 9 weeks, so that can give you a rough idea if you know when she mated. When her milk starts coming in, the kittens are coming within a few days. If you want a precise time frame for when she's going to have them, take her temperature. It will drop 1-2 degrees 24 hours before birth.
