The best weightlifting exercise to produce muscle mass is any exercise using the massive overload principle. You should completely wipe out your muscles by lifting heaving weights for as many reps as you can. This will tear the muscle tissue making it come back thicker and stronger. This action increases the size of muscles

Full range squats - well past parallel with your butt to the ground. Deadlifts and shoulder press are the next best ones. To gain the most mass, you need to do heavy, free weight exercises that work several muscles at once. Another good exercise would be weighted pull-ups (full range - chest to bar), but squats are the absolute best.

Answers will vary. One trainer (Dan John) said that the answer is whatever program you aren't doing is the one you need. In my case, I find that Mark Rippetoe's "Starting Strength" when used with his recommended GOMAD (Gallon Of whole Milk A Day) will pack on mass and strength more than any other program.

That would be the dead lift. This exercise is good because it works out every single part of your body. It is important to learn how to do this right, as doing it wrong will prove less beneficial then not. Other than that, try to do th is exercise the next time at the gym.

The best way to learn how to build your muscle mass with weight lifting is to consult a personal body building consultant. Your local gym should be able to help you with this or check your yellow pages. It is best to not only know the right exercises but learn how to do them properly.
