It is possible that the cat could have contracted an inner ear infection. The inner ear in mammals is responsible for our sense of balance. If it becomes infected, this can disrupt the sense of spatial reality and cause stumbling. Take your cat to a reputable veterinarian and have them checked out.

There are a lot of possible problems that can cause imbalance in cats. If they have damage to their whiskers or tail, it will throw them off balance. Others can be ear infections or other illnesses. You need to see your vet.

It could possibly be a head injury or neurological disorder. If your cat is stumbling you should take it to the vet to have it checked out.

Your cat could be stumbling because of an inner ear problem. Just as humans with ear infections become dizzy or nauseated, animals can experience the same. A cat who has always been agile but now has problems more than likely is suffering from some sort of ear infection. However, since animals cannot tell us what is wrong, see a vet.
