Unfortunately, over fertilizing is easy to do and nearly impossible to fix. Your grass will start to brown out and eventually die. The only solution is lots of water.

If you over fertilizer your lawn you will burn out the grass. If you do this accidentally, water profusely the area. It may brown out and you will have to re-seed in the fall (or spring). If not that severe just water a lot and try to dilute the fertilizer. Don't wait too long.

If your over fertilize your lawn it will kill the grass. You could always ask for recommendations on how often to fertilize from your local florist or from whom ever your buy the fertilizer from. You could also hire a landscaping service that would take care of everything for you. Good luck.

If you over Fertilize you can burn your lawn and destroy it, from burning your lawn to having brown spots in your yard

Over fertilization will lead to "burning of the grass". It turns brown like it is dead but is esentially burning from the fertilizer.
