The biggest computer program was more than likely windows 95. People waited in line overnight to buy the firts copy. Oddly enough, the biggest program now would be Windows 7, if you're talking about the sheer number of peopel who have it.

The widest used program in 1995, would be WordPerfect for MS DOS. The widest used program today is Microsoft office, which is used by millions of companies around the world.

Microsoft released Internet Explorer in 1995, bundled with Windows on new computers. MS-Windows (with Internet Explorer) was on more personal computers than any other program. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) was also big then. In 2010, Microsoft Windows and Office are still on more personal computers than any other program.

There was a big virus that hit the computers in 1995. This started a revolution in the name of computers. There are many problems now, but not major ones that are affecting the computer revolution.

I guess Microsoft Office 1995 suite was the biggest way back in 1995. I think Microsoft Office suite Professional plus 2010 (beta) 684MB is the biggest.
