Architecture in the US in the 1600s was more utilitarian than decorative. The exact nature depended on the area of the country. In Scandinavian influenced areas, log cabins were common. However, English buildings were made of wood plank.

American architecture in the 1600s was almost non-existent. The American colonies were still in a primitive state and there were few large permanent structures. Most of the buildings were made of earth and wood and were very basic in design. The few larger buildings were similar to European architecture from the same time period.
