Old English is tricky. I recommend reading it aloud to yourself first or listening to an audio version of an Old English story. Try Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales," and get used to the sound of the language. Pick out common phonetic combinations and utilize them in your writing.

You'd have to learn Anglo-Saxon if you wanted to write in old English. Archaic English (e. g. , Shakespeare) uses different pronouns (e. g. , "thou"), different vocabulary ("wench"), and different spellings/print (elongated s).

They said things like thy and thou. You also say things like "verily I say unto thee. " Meaning I say this to you. Write tings like "How doth... "

It depends on whether you really mean Old English? The term Old English refers to the language spoken in England from about the year 550 AD to 1250 AD. Here's a sample: "Þæt wæs god cyning" means "That was a good king. " Is that how you want to write?
