Baton Rouge is hot/humid from late April at least through September. Carry water bottles. If you're a sports fan, visit "Death Valley," LSU's stadium. A number of beautiful pre-Civil War plantations are open for touring along the River Road. Definitely take a swamp tour.

The best time to visit Baton Rouge is from May to September. Learning a few French words or phrases will come in handy as many of the locals incorporate the European language in their everyday conversation. Be sure to stop off at the State Capitol building as it has an observation deck that provides a magnificent view of the city.

If your travelling there between March to September, keep in mind that it will get really Hot and Humid, so be prepared.
