What surfaces can benefit from a steam mop?

I would not use a steam mop on hardwood, laminate flooring, vinyl tiles or vinyl from a roll. I'd be worried about the steam penetrating joints and the heat ruining the surface. About the only place I'd use a steam mop is on ceramic tile.

A steam mop is great for any type of tile or laminate. I would not recomend it for hardwood it may cause it to lift.
