I make a thick Scottish soup called Cullen Skink. Boil some onions in milk with 1/2 bay leaves and parsley stalks. Then take the leaves away, use a mixer to dissolve onion. Add smokedfish (possibly haddock), boiled potatoes (part small cubes, part mixed), blackpepper, parsley leaves, cook some more. Good and easy. You can find recipes with Google.
