You should bring meals that are easy to keep, reheat and store. Something like a casserole or a bake that can be popped in the oven easily would be helpful.

I would try some classic comfort food that is home cooked such as casserole dishes or macaroni and cheese with a vegetable side and some meat with brownies for dessert.

The best thing I ever got was an all-in-one casserole. It's easy to stick in the fridge and is easy to heat up later, and tastes great as a left-over.

It would be good to take what is called "comnfort" food. A meatloaf, pot roast with vegetables or a chocolate cake or a big pot of soup. This is not when you do something avant garde or fancy.
