It would depend on the square footage of the apartment and if you're wanting to cool the entire apartment, or just a single room, such as the bedroom. A 5000 btu unit will easily handle most bedrooms, and will cool the rest of the apartment some. If you want the whole place cooler, try a 10,000 btu.

Well in order to figure this out I would need to know the square footage. You can go online and find a calculator and put in your numbers.

For a one bedroom apartment usually half a tonne A/c would be sufficient but all this depends upon the size.
