Whatever you do, do NOT wear a prom dress or ball gown! Just wear a nice suit, skirt, or a dress. Nothing too fancy but nice.

That depends on the nature of the performance. For example, if it's your daughter's ballet recital, your Sunday best is generally a good choice. If you are going to a professional ballet company performance for a holiday or weekend event during the evening, you should wear elegant dress clothes.

At most ballet performances it is acceptable to wear a wide range of clothing styles. I have seen attendees wear anything from jeans and a sweater to very formal tuxedos and gowns. However, most people wear something in between - such as nice pants, button down shirt and a tie for men and dresses or nice suits for women.

It is such a happy time when you go to a ballet performance. What to wear should not be a hard question. Always dress up. A daytime performance requires "church" attire - dress for ladies, coat and tie for men. An evening performance requires evenng attire, something like you would wear to a cocktail party. Have fun!

Wear something nice but not too dressy if you can see what other people who are goin are gonna wear. Have fun! :)

it really depends on what typer of performance it is. If it is a nice ballet performance, you want to wear a nice dress but nothing like a ball gown. remember, you will be sitting quite a bit. As Marsha (above) put it quite well, church attire is fitting.
