What should I look for in an antique oak china hutch?

When looking to buy an antique you should first decide what period and style you are looking to purchase. Shopping for a 100 year old domestic piece is very different than shopping for an 200 year foreign piece. Decide how much use it will get and that it can withstand.

This is a common piece of furniture for antique shops to have. If you visit a local shop and they don't currently have one, give them your name and number and ask them to call you when one comes in. Try flea markets and antique shows too!

Shop around at Antique Stores. You can always ask the person who works at the store if they know of any around. Often times Antique dealers can find you pieces.

First of all look for a piece that will accomodate your items. Then try to find a sturdy and well-made piece that compliments your existing decor.

Look for something vintage with a company stamp in the back. Make sure it isn't broken, then it will be worthless.
