the tile(peel and stick) should be removed. A heat gun works perfect for removing the tiles. The sub- floor can then be checked for anything sticking up and imperfections. Nail down any high spots to reduce squeaking. Lay down foam underlay, and proceed to lay your new laminate floor. Tape the seems of your underlay as you move along.

If you're putting it over a vinyl composition tile (VCT), you should be fine. If you're putting it over ceramic tile, it will not work. The laminate will shift and flex when you walk over it, which will cause it to break and come apart. If there is ceramic, you must remove it first.

When placing laminate over tile thoroughly clean the surface of the tile to ensure the best possible adhesion. Smooth over the laminate to remove any air pockets afterward.

Before putting laminate down make sure that your floor is completely free of left over cement and left over glue. This will ensure that the laminate will lay cleanly.

Well before laminating tile, you should be sure that the tile is placed correctly and sealed to the ground. Then you want to make sure there are no stains on the tile because if you laminate the floor you will not be able to restore the tile's immaculate condition. Clean the tile with chlorine first.

Your finished surface will only be as sound and smooth as the substrate - what's below the laminate. If the tile is coming up, so will the laminate.

Well if you put the laminate over tile, it will be easier to clean off any stains that may come on the floor.
