Before buying one make sure you can afford to keep it maintain. They are notorious for requiring a lot of expensive service performed by special technicians. Parts and labor are very pricey. Make sure that any car you plan on purchasing has records of any repair and maintenance history. So you know it is up to date.

If it is an older Ferrari you need to know if it is fuel injected or carborated unless you are a mechanic avoid the carborated. Also you want to know if the timing belts are original as they are very expensive to replace and should be replaced every 60,000 miles.

You should know exactly how much it is going to cost you before you decide to buy a Ferrari. It happens to be one of the most expansive (sport) cars out there. Make sure that it will be worth it.

You should check out the dealer and get references if it's reputable. Do they perform good service on the car? You may need luxury insurance for this vehicle, keep that in mind, a $100,000 plus vehicle could carry $5000-$7,000 a year, depending on the utilization.
