What should I know before performing door hinge pins replacement?

Well you need to make sure that you can replace these safely without the door falling off the hinges!! I think that this is a 2 person job, 1 to hold the door and the other to replace the pins, if you wedge the door safely you can knock the old pins out and tap the new pin in.

Some hinge pins have a small allen key "lock" -- be sure to remove them if present. Block the door open and lift it just SLIGHTLY and shim in two places underneath to retain position. Replace one pin at a time. Knock the old pin loose with a drift. Lube the new pin with white grease and tap into position.
