What should I know about frequent urination and Topamax?

Topamax is an anti-convulsant and originally treated patients with seizures. It is also used to treat migraines, bi-polar disorder, post-traumatic stress, and pain. Many side effects that may occur with Topamax may actually subside like frequent urination after the first 8 weeks of use. However, this particular side effect would need to be reported to the doctor.

Topamax which is used for epilepsy and prevention of migraines does not usually have a side effect of frequent urination. One should see a doctor to check for urinary infection.

It is a very common side effect for frequent urination when taking this medication. This is normal, but can be annoying.

Frequent urination is a common side effect of Topomax. If it is bothersome, you should discuss it with your doctor..
