What should I expect from recovery from the angiography procedure?

While angiography is often performed on outpatient basis, you may be kept overnight in the hospital, be given pain medications and have your vital signs monitored.

An angiography procedure can be performed as a same day procedure. The recovery is minimal and requires patients to rest for 24 hours after the procedure.

You will have to lay flat for the first couple of hours. If the femoral artery was used, you will have a sandbad over it, providing pressure to stop any type of bleeding. If the radial artery was used you will have a pressure bandage around your wrist Providing pressure. You will feel sleepy from the medication and be sore
