What should I do if, in Excel, ctrl+d is not working?

Check your macros and see if there's a macro for Ctrl+d, which would override the original Fill command. If there's nothing there and it still isn't working, create a Macro yourself. Press the Record button, and then copy the cell above and paste it into the selected cell and save. Now Ctrl+d is a macro that does the same thing.

You can try using windows automatic updates or you can use repair wizard. A Better option would be to switch to open office which is an open source alternative to Microsoft Office.
