First you need to make sure if it is stolen or not. Once you are sure, call the police - you need to file a report. Then you can use that police report to prove to your insurance company that in fact it was stolen.

What do you mean "think"? Before you call either the police or your insurer, find out for sure if your car has been stolen. The police and most insurance companies take a very dim view of false reports. If your car has been stolen, call the police first. Most insurances require a police report to file a claim.

If you car has been stolen, your first step is to call the police. Your insurance company will actually want a copy of the police report.

I would call the police first because they can get on with trying to find the car. I would call my insurance compnay after I had talked with the police.

The first thing I would do if I thought my car had been stolen would be to call the police. I would need someone to take charge of the situation.
