While you should have a physician drain the leg hair follicle, it can be done by you. Swab the area with alcohol, use a needle which has been held in a flame for 10 seconds to lance and drain the pus from the lesion.

Cleanse the area where the follicle is with an antiseptic administered neatly on a cotton wool pad. Cover the follicle with a plaster for a couple of days to keep the area sterile. The follicle should heal. Keep the area as dry as possible.

Infection of a hair follicle in most cases is caused by the bacteria staphylococcus aureus. It usually resolves spontaneously. If it doesn't or if it is painful than you should take antibiotics for it.

Wash the area with an antiseptic solution. Do not pluck the hair, although it is ok to remove pus with some gentle squeezing (clean hands first). If it spreads or does not seem to be healing, then go see a doctor.
