What should I do about fleas on my hamster?

Answer by  traumatised (3285)

Take your hamster to a vet for treatment. Hamsters catch fleas from other animals, so treat any pet in your house as well to stop the fleas from returning.

A few years ago my hamster had fleas, and to stop it I ended up using flea powder for kittens on him. It worked great and the flea problem stopped!

Take your hamster to the vet. Since they are smaller than other pets hamsters need a smaller dosage of flea medication, the vet will know how much to give it.

Treat your house. The fleas didnt come from the humster its an outside environment issue. Clean his cage out and buy new toys for him. Give him a bath.
