This is usually a breed-specific problem with English bulls. You have the option of constant care with cleaning the site, using antibiotic topicals and dealing with infection, or you can pursue a surgical answer to the problem. You need a vet that understands bullies and this kind of problem, check online forums for your breed.

Keeping the area around the tail clean and dry will help prevent infections. This the only thing you can do. Consult your vet for any surgical options you may have.

Well, first thing you should about the ingrown tail on a dog, is to go to talk to your Vet and tell him what the problem is. They may perform an autopsy on the dog and prescribe antibiotic prescriptions that you may have to use daily. Some vets will recommend surgery

I hope they don't perform an autopsy! An autopsy (or necropsy) is done to determine cause of death.  add a comment
