OMG it depends on whether it is above the ground or below the ground. Is it a small leak or a major leak? The pipes can be be cut and replaced if there is a leak. Consult your owner manual for tips on fixing or call the manufacturer for one.

For underground leaks cap all the sprinkler heads and turn on the water. Check your lawn for puddles of water to appear. If you do not have the equipment to trace a leak purchase or lease it. Dig a trench that is wide enough so you can maneuver the pipes.

Well unless you installed the system and know how to do this type of thing I would recommend calling in the experts. The prob is if you don't know where the lines are you could wind up tearing up your yard just trying to find out where the leak is.
