You should start with the foundational base spirits like gin, bourbon, tequila, rum, brandy, scotch, and vodka. Then add sweet and dry vermouth, Contreau, some mixers like tonic and soda water, fresh citrus for juicing, and last but not least Angostura bitters and orange bitters which are essential.

A good collection should include bottles for their shape, historical or entertainment value taking into account the relevance of the country in the production of a specific type of liquor.

A liquor collection needs to have a good variety of all available liquids. It would be wise to start with these products: gin, vodka, various rums, alize, scotch, amaretto, and some different flavored schnapps.
