You can not take both your feet off of the ground to make a shot. A combo where you hit the opponents ball, or the 8-ball, before your own is illegal, and hitting a ball off of the table also is.

In every game of pool time comes when your opponents ball,or the 8-ball ,blocks the path of your shot.Typically you would look for a bank shot to get around the obstacle,but in some situations,the best shot you play is to jump the cue ball over the obstacle.

One shot that is not allowed is the "double hit" in which the poolstick hits the cueball more than once during a single stroke. Beginning players often do this inadvertently, but it is not allowed.
