A top that is made of the same material, and completely flowing or a fitted one of cotton such as a simple t-shirt. Do not wear an over sized t-shirt or fitted button blouse as the midrift area will just end up looking frumpy. Also, you could go with a classic tank.

A nice, floral top is good to wear with white linen pants. A top like this is good to wear with those kinds of pants because it brings out the color and texture of the shirt.

Tops that are cut on a bias create a a cool and feminine summer look. Sheer blouses and tops in silk fabrics work well. Try to go for a visually popping color on top such as coral, turquoise, etc... Adding a simple, summer jacket or blazer makes this outfit work appropriate.

Something colorful without patterns. Something that is also linen looks very nice with the appropriate shoes (I suggest sandals). Jewlery for women will help greatly. A short sleeve top or 3/4 sleeve top looks much better than a long sleeve shirt. If the linen pants are long, wear regular shoes.
