Baby snapping turtles live in warm, wet, and grassy environments. They spend most of their time swimming or floating in water. They are similar to lizards in the fact that they must stay warm and when they are not emerged in water they usually sun themselves on rocks or logs.

Baby snappers grow very fast and starting with a large tank is recommended. Decorate its home like its natural habitat with stones to climb on and some driftwood. Diets include small fish, crickets, snails, shrimp, lettuce and other fresh veggies..experiment! A clean environment, day/night cycles, and daily care is essential.

Snapping turtles primarily stay in freshwater. They prefer a substance like sand or mud at the bottom of their habitat and like aquatic plant life in the area they live. They normally hide in this in the wild. Also though snapping turtles have been found living in brackish water but are primarily in freshwater.

They're going to need a place to eat on land and crawl around. They will need a place to swim, put some rocks on the bottom of their little pool. Get a heating lamp because they're cold blooded and can't control their own body heat. Try to keep out of reach of children.

Snapping turtles are aquatic animals so if i were you i would check my local pet store for small islands or sand and then put anough water to fit your tank and the size of your turtle.

I had a snapper turtle for a few years. Bigger the tank the better, also good filteration is a must, since turtles tend to smell. They need a way to get out of the water also. Proper lighting for them is very important also.
