The Pentax K1000 camera uses standard 35mm cartridge film. This camera accepts a wide range of ISO rated film from 100 to 1600 allowing for many photography situations.

Any kind of 35mm film will work with a Pentax K1000. My favourite are Kodak Portra for regular colour, Kodak Tri-X for traditional black and white, Fuji Velvia for colour slide.

It uses regular 35mm photographic film. You can buy it in anywhere, even from a regular store. A one with ISO/ASA 200 or 400 would be the most versatile one to use. You can also try buying black and white film. For developing the film, again it's easy. It can be done in most stores.

35mm film is meant for that and most consumer cameras. You can buy many varieties of it in color and black & white. It's available in camera and drug stores.
