Well it depends on which years you are talking about. Most newer models had the ecotec 2.0l engine but there are other sizes ranging from 1.8 to 3.1 liters.

Most Cavaliers have the 2.1 motors that are a four cylinder. Some of them came with the 2.4 and a V-6 in the ss models.
