A diet rich in complex carbohydrates and whole foods would help him. This type of diet allows the food to be processed slower leaving him with a steady amount of energy. Processed foods can make him have energy swings and be hyper.

The best diet for a kid with ADHD, is an all natural, live food diet. Fruit and vegetables in their natural, uncooked state. Reduce sugars and eliminate perservatives and colourings.

Good suggestions from HealthCastle: 1. Organic whole foods (this will eliminate lots of toxins that could be increasing the adhd) 2. No high-mercury fish 3. Test for gluten sensitivity and if necessary eliminate gluten (found in grains like wheat) 4. DHA supplements (a good source is Horizon organic chocolate milk) 5. Multi-vitamin supplements 6. Other brain nutrients (check the site)

Diet may only partially help with ADHD, but it certainly can't hurt. Foods to avoid are artificial food coloring, caffeine, refined sugars, (including soda and juice). On the other hand Omega-3 fatty acids, (found in fresh salmon, sardines, herring, tuna, flax seed oil and other fortified foods) are found to be beneficial. Good luck!

there aren't many foods that can help him with his attention deficite, but for t he hyper activity you mostly want to cut back on the sugar and caffiene intake. this doesnt mean to switch him to a sugar free diet, but go with more healthier cereal and fruits. there are also multi vitamins you can think about for memory
