This is a condition that encompasses inflammation of the blood vessels which includes arteries and veins. This condition can lead to damage to these vessels by scarring and weakening or narrowing.

Vasculitis, in its most basic definition, is an inflammation of the veins within the vascular system. This can be accompanied by widespread pain wherever the inflammation is occuring at a certain point of time. Treatment is often with steroidal medications, such as Prednisone in varying doses. Causes for this condition are multiple, and can be cardiac in nature.
