There might not be anything unique about them at all. People are fascinated because going to a famous person's grave is the closest they'll ever get to a celebrity.

We generally only visit the graves of family members and close friends. But because of our obsession with celebrities in life, we are also fascinated by them in death. Many of their graves are major tourist attractions for fans.

It is eerie to think that humans want to flock to a perfect strangers grave just because of some sort of fame the dead person achieved while alive. People place flowers on graves, some are delivered by florists to these graves. This is the difference between the famous and the grass roots person.
