What is the wedding night for Mormons like?

It is just like any other wedding night. One difference is if the Mormon couple has "undergarments". They are underwear received at a certain age in adult hood during a private ceremony. The bishop marks the places where the underwear is worn on your body. Only spouses can see these.

A lot would depend on the particular Mormons getting married, but in most cases it would involve sex. Since many (but not all) Mormons are virgins when they get married, this will likely be the first time they have sex. Otherwise, there's nothing crazy or unusual about Mormon wedding nights.

I imagine it has the potential to be awkward, because in the Mormom church both the bride and the groom are encouraged to remain virgins until marriage.

Mormons do not have a tradition that is particular to the religion. They will do what is traditional for the country where they live.
