You can apply a topical cream and take some aspirin for the minor pain problem. If it gets worst over the next few days you can seek further medical attention.

You need appropriate antibiotic therapy.Lyme disease as well as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever can be transmitted by tick bite and both are serious conditions so you need to consult a qualified health care provider without delay.

Make a poultice of activated charcoal and water. A potato, finely grated, will work as well. Place the poultice on your skin and cover with a cloth or gauze followed by plastic wrap. Leave on overnight and remove in the morning.

Treat this bite like any other insect bite. Make sure when you remove the tick that the head isn't left behind in the bite area. Wash the area well with soap and water and watch for signs of infection.

All you can do is totally remove the tick and wash the area good and make sure no infection sets in. A tick can be removed easily by applying fingernail polish remover to the tick.
