Remove the tick with a pair of tweezers making sure to remove the head along with the body. Swab the area with an alcohol pad and check it a few times daily for redness, swelling or drainage. If you have any suspicion that it might be infected call your veterinarian immediately!

After the Tick has been properly removed it is a good idea to swab the area with a cleanser such as rubbing alcohol

For the most part tick bites will heal on their own but you can safely give your dog benedryl if they have some minor irritations. Benedryl is safe for dogs at 1mg per pound or less. I would also recommend using a topical tick treatment like Frontline or Advantix to prevent future bites.

If the dog has a vet then you can bring him there. Or you can go to a dog store and buy some flea and tick shampoo for him/her.

You need to tak the dog to the vet so they can check it for anemia and they will be able to tell you how to rid them.

Go to you're veterinarian. If you yourself have been bitten it is best to go to your doctor. You can use OTC medication to relieve any discomfort.
